What kind of animal I get for my ten gallon aquarium?

I want a pet that is definitely not water and not as a mouse, guinea pig, rat ex. I could go on a ten gallon aquarium. I can not get a type of snake and one of the arachnids. I want to be able to handle a bit. Some trees would be great. I was thinking that perhaps an alligator or a lizard. Oh, and none of the hermit crabs

Even a newborn turtle less like a Russian race would need a larger enclosure in a year or two. For a turtle in a glass aquarium, I'd say it would require a larger tank. babies can only stay in something so small … and it is not their permanent residence. It's something to consider.
