where would I send an arachnid to find out what type it is?
We live in central upstate New York, we had found 2 spiders about the size of an orange. I was just wondering what type of arachnid it may have been and if there is anything to worry about. It looked like it was brown with little dots on it.
The size of an orange? I think you are exaggerating! LOL Do a google search for spiders in New York. You should be able to find pix of all types of spiders that are in your area.
There is a spider looking to identify. A picture of it here: If http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/MarkOfEternity/WhoAmI.jpg you can not visit the link to view the image, a physical description is as follows: It has a fairly large circular body. It is brown and cream with scratches on his legs and a strange looking slate cocoon in the back. It is a spider spinning its web and there was the remains of a cocoon, probably refreshments. However, I have not seen an insect is, so I assume that this may be the spider that eats insects range together.
Hi, this is certainly an Orb Weaver, Spider. World and build up networks usually feels in the middle of them. The species is probably a golden Orb Weaver. Usually found in open and clearly visible. Very common Garden Spider. Hope that helps!-Batman
