can spiders drown to death?

I know that insects can’t have water in their respiration system or else they can’t respirate, and end up dying. I was wondering.. is that the same for spiders? cause spiders are arachnids.. hm…

Spiders also drown. They have respiratory systems that use what are called ‘book lungs’ which, as you’d probably guess are book shaped, similar to bellows. And yes, they require air to survive.

There is an interesting spider that goes underwater but it takes with it a bubble of air trapped in a web so that it can breath.
